Pauline & Juliette, c’est l’histoire de deux voix, deux guitares, qui s’unissent autour d’un univers folk et intimiste, alliant reprises et créations...

Pauline Junquet (25 ans) et Juliette Alfonso (22 ans) se sont rencontrées il y a six ans à l’occasion d’un concert organisé en faveur du téléthon à Cambo-les-Bains. Assez vite, à l’aide de leurs deux guitares, elles montent un répertoire de reprises alliant musiques internationales et chants traditionnels basques.

Après 3 ans de concerts, Pauline & Juliette signent leur premier album studio chez le label Agorila intitulé « Hegaldaka », qui signifie « l’envol » en basque.

 

Dans ce premier opus, qui rencontre un franc succès local, (4 000 exemplaires vendus essentiellement sur le territoire du Pays Basque français) on y trouve leurs premières compositions en basque, ainsi que des reprises de chansons des plus grands standards de la chanson française et folk, comme Francis Cabrel, Léonard Cohen, ou même, Simon & Garfunkel.

Hormis quelques dates spécifiques où elles ont été accompagnées de musiciens (batteur, guitare ou piano et contrebasse), elles se sont essentiellement produites en duo (guitares et voix).

 

Un parcours remarquable qui les a menées à Paris, Bordeaux, Bilbao, Madrid et dans tout le Pays Basque français et espagnol avec notamment en juillet 2018 les premières parties de NADAU aux Arènes de Bayonne et de Vianney au Festival des Transhumances musicales à Laàs. En juillet 2019, elles ont également chanté aux arènes de Bayonne en première partie de Patrick Bruel.

Le duo annonce désormais la sortie de leur deuxième album pour 2020 : « Veloma », un album de douze titres, mêlant le folk, la world et la musique afro.

Pauline & Juliette, it's the story of two voices that match well and complete each other, as if by magic. And that bring you into a folk universe, full of sensibility and gentleness.

 

Pauline Junquet (25) and Juliette Alfonso (22) met 6 years ago at a concert meant for the Telethon, in Cambo-les-Bains.

 

Soon enough, with their two guitars, they create a musical repertoire of covers, mixing traditional basque songs and tunes from Madagascar (Juliette's birth country).

 

After 3 years of concerts, Pauline & Juliette sign their first album studio at Agorila, entitled “Hegaldaka” (which means “take off” in basque).

 

In this first album, which has met a great success, (4.000 copies sold, mainly, in the French basque country), we can find their first compositions in basque as well as covers of the greatest French artists like Francis Cabrel, Léonard Cohen or even Simon & Garfunkel.

 

After 5 years, Pauline and Juliette have given at least 200 concerts. Except for a few specific dates where they were accompanied by musicians (a drummer, a guitarist and a pianist), they essentially performed just the two of them (guitars and voices). An amazing path, that has brought them to Paris, Bordeaux, Bilbao or Madrid. They have also been to the Basque country, both French and Spanish sides, with, for example, the first parts of Nadau in July 2018 at Bayonne arenas (with their group), Vianney at the festival of musical transhumance (in duo) and also Patrick Bruel at Bayonne arenas in July 2019 (in duo).

 

Today, Pauline & Juliette are still performing and they invite you to discover their own folk universe, that you will, most likely, enjoy.

Folk mundu goxo eta delikatu batean sararazten gaituzte  Pauline eta Juliette-k haien boz hunkigarriak juntatzen dituztelarik.

 

25 urte ditu Paulinek eta Juliettek 22 ; Ezagutu zuten elgar 6 urte lehenago Kanbon, kantaldi batean eta laster asi bikotean kantatzen gitarrez lagunduz ;

 

3 urtez herriz herri ibili eta, « Hegaldaka » diskoa plazaratu zuten AGORILA labelaren eskutik, arrakasta ederra bilduz (4000 ale salduak gaur arte):

Euskarazko sorkuntzak eta folk artista ospetsu   batzuen obren (Leonard Cohen, Francis Cabrel edo Simon & Garfunkel) bertsio bereziak aurki daitezke bikotearen lehen obra huntan, Madagascar eko hizkuntza  ere  entzuten da (Julietten jatorrizko herria ) , frantses ingles eta euskarazko abestien artean;

 

 Gehienetan binaka eta artetan taldean orotara, 5 urtez, 200 kontzertu eman dituzte ipar eta hego Euskal Herrian zehar, baita Parise, Madrile edo Bordale hirietan ere…Artista haundiak gurutzatuz taula gainean, Nadau, Vianney, Patrick BRUEL, besteak beste…
